Kirsten Juliet Gettings BA (Theater & Sociology) - Franklin & Marshall College Member:
AATE (American Alliance for Theater and Education) and Illinois Theater Association

My first introduction to theater came as a result of participating in my mother's creative dramatics classes in The Drama Workshop, which she founded with Sarahjane Scott in the Seattle metropolitan area. Dance, voice and theater classes and performance opportunities continued through my undergraduate education, including a summer workshop with the Seattle Children's Theater and spending a semester studying theater in London. Now that I have children of my own, I have rediscovered my love of creative dramatics and its powerful, positive impact on children's development. My method is based on the teachings of Geraldine Brain Siks, Winifred Ward and Peter Slade, the founders of Creative Drama.  In addition to my own classes, I teach in schools in after school programs, summer camp in Evanston, IL and participate in local school arts initiatives.
